In response to The Daily Post’s weekly writing challenge: “Ice, Water, Steam.”

Ice
Cold
Frigid
Hard
So Thick
Keeping Us Separate
But Dying To Get Through The Ice
Choking On What We See

Water
Fluid
Moving
Buoyant
So Cheerful
Bursting with life
Quenching The Thirst We Have
Prisms Of Light Dance On Your Surface
Bubbling With Joy

Steam
Hot
Burning
Scared
You’re Frightened
I’m Frightened
We are all Terrified
Pleading To Come Away From The Heat

The ice separates us.
The steam wounds you.

Scares us.
Stop it.

We are tired and thirsty.

With Love,

Kalamity
